Introducing the DPS-100 Soil Moisture Irrigation Controller
Reliable · Flexible · Simple · Robust
WaterWatcher, Inc is pleased to introduce the WaterWatcher DPS-100 system for use with residential and light commercial irrigation systems. Typical irrigation controllers are based solely on time and will irrigate your landscape whether it is needed or not. This can result in over-watering and unhealthy lawns and landscape. The DPS-100 system was designed to take the guesswork out of managing your irrigation system.
The WaterWatcher DPS-100 soil moisture based irrigation control system works as a partner with your conventional automatic irrigation system. The DPS-100 controller mounts near your timer, and the DPS moisture sensor(s) are installed in your landscaping. The DPS-100 controller then prevents your timer from irrigating until the soil dries sufficiently to your preset moisture level, eliminating over and under watering, making your landscape healthier and conserving water as well!
The DPS-100 system installs in minutes. It uses a patent-pending technology to communicate with soil moisture sensors over valve control wires, eliminating the need to bury extra wire for the sensors and making installation and wiring very simple. The system is very robust and will provide trouble free operation for many years. The sensor is made from stainless steel and is filtered to eliminate DC currents, which can cause corrosion.
The DPS-100 system will pay for itself many times over in lower water bills and lower maintenance costs for your landscape, as well as giving you the peace of mind that you are doing your part to conserve water resources.
The WaterWatcher DPS-100 has the following features:
--Moisture Threshold Adjust Dial
A dial is included for setting the moisture threshold where irrigation is allowed or disallowed. Turning the dial clockwise will keep the landscape drier; counterclockwise will keep it more moist.
--Red/Green Indicator Lights
Indicator lights are included which show status of the system. When green is on, irrigation will be allowed to occur. When red is on, irrigation will not be allowed to occur. One of the lights will flash when timer is in an irrigation cycle, green if irrigating, or red if overridden.
--Auto/Bypass Switch
A switch is included to quickly bypass the DPS-100 when necessary, such as when performing system maintenance. "Auto" mode is the normal operating mode, "Bypass" mode causes the system to operate as if the WaterWatcher™ were not installed.
--Calibration Button
A button is located through a recess in the front panel, which is used to calibrate the sensor to the controller after it is installed. Holding the "Cal" button for 3 seconds will adjust the range of the dial for your soil type.
The release of the DPS-100 System, marks the opening of the WaterWatcher online store (www.waterwatcher.com). Industrial grade models and accessories will also be available in the future, so please check the website often for new information about our products and information to help conserve our water resources.
