On Friday, June 6, 2003, Deloitte Consulting professionals from the Atlanta office will spend the day working hand in hand with invited guests and the children of the Carrie Steele-Pitt Home to create children’s flower gardens for each of the site’s cottages, build a nature trail and develop lasting relationships with the children of the home. Additionally, Deloitte Consulting’s practitioners will network the children’s computer lab and administrative offices.

The firm’s Atlanta employees, join more than an estimated 12,000 of their colleagues in more than 70 cities around the world who are participating in projects ranging from providing computer literacy training for employees of a day-care facility for children with HIV-positive parents in Sao Paulo, to conducting mock interviews, help with writing resumes, and training for new immigrants at eight community centers in Toronto; to assisting a non-profit organization in Oslo support a housing center for the elderly, including taking residents for walks, cleaning the facility, and working in the garden.

Locally, many organizations are contributing to the effort, including Ace Hardware, American Coach, Armada, ASD, Atlanta Marriott Marquis Hotel, BFI Waste Services, Capitol Tree Service, ICEBOX, Porter Paints, Ryder, Southern LINC, Target, The Home Depot, The Petit Bistro, and Wal-Mart.
